What is Dream Therapy?

Dream Therapy is a deeply rewarding form of psychotherapy where each weekly session is guided by the dream you bring that day. Together we use your dream as an avenue to access your rich inner world and discover the unconscious beliefs, feelings, memories, attitudes, and patterns that are affecting your life today.

I help you see these patterns and then transform them, if you wish, using a combination of fresh awareness and unique dream alchemy practices that I create specifically for you to assist healing, release blocks, and support powerful positive change.

 

Weekly sessions for 10 weeks

Like other forms of psychotherapy, Dream Therapy is an ongoing process, requiring a weekly commitment. Ten weeks (a 60-minute session each week) allows us to explore your inner world more deeply than we do during a single Dream Consultation. Weekly sessions offer continuity. Week by week we monitor the shifts and changes that occur for you, tracking them through your dreams and through the glimmers of gold that appear in your waking life as subtle (or enormous) signs of positive change.

You are in safe, expert hands: I have been consulting professionally as a dream therapist for 33 years.

 

Between sessions

After each session, I create a unique transformative dream alchemy practice (an exercise based on our exploration of your dream) for you to do before your next session. I may also pose one or two questions for you to explore during the intervening time. I email these to you. We generally start each session reviewing your progress with these.

Dreams offer a powerful direct line to the heart of the matter, and to the heart and soul of the self.

When you choose to do Dream Therapy with me, we may explore some of your past as well as more recent challenges, but rest assured that you and I will go there gently, in safe healing steps, and that you will finish each session feeling better than you did at the start.

During our time together, you may connect or reconnect with lost or as yet undiscovered aspects of yourself in a healing, transformative, energising, meaningful way.

Dream Therapy helps you to resolve the unresolved, re-evaluate your priorities, free yourself from limiting beliefs that have been holding you back, and come through stronger – in a gentle peaceful way – so that life today opens up for you in increasingly authentic, richer, bigger, better, and healthier ways.

Dreams reflect your conscious and unconscious experiences of the last 24-48 hours, and the way your individual mindset processes those experiences. In Dream Therapy you grow to understand your mindset and the various unconscious beliefs that form its structure. You grow to see – perhaps for the first time – your oldest, deepest beliefs that form the foundation of your individual belief system (your mindset), and you grow to see how these affect the way you see and respond in your life today. Working together, you and I will gently identify these – led by exploring your dreams – and transform the not-so-good beliefs (using dream alchemy) into supportive ones that enrich your life today and in the future.

Each week, we begin by reviewing your progress with the dream alchemy practice I created for you after the previous session. We also look at the ‘glimmers of gold’ you’ve experienced, and any other updates you’d like to give. Then we explore the dream you have chosen for the current session, using it as an avenue for therapy. Every session is unique: I am guided by the dream you bring, and your intentions for working with me.

 

You might choose Dream Therapy because you have a specific issue you’d like to address, resolve, or heal, or you might simply be excited to begin a deeper inner journey, to tune in and tune up, and prepare for your next steps in life.

 

Each session:

    • We meet by Zoom: It’s good to make visual contact.
    • Sessions are weekly (with flexibility for holidays/emergencies).
